An early 20th-century etching on paper. Titled The Marquis of Granby, Dorking this depicts figures walking up the narrow street of the Surrey town. The pub, whose sign hangs over the center of the composition, was described by Charles Dickens in his Pickwick Papers. It is titled and signed illegibly below in graphite. This work is presented with an off-white French mat under glas in a black wooden frame that is wired for hanging.

Condition

- some minor edge wear to the frame; moderate toning to the paper.
