Hand-colored Half Tone Print After John J. Audubon's "Canadian Turtle Dove"
Item Details
A hand-colored half tone print on paper after an original engraving after a drawing by American ornithologist, John J. Audubon (1785-1851). Titled Carolina Turtle Dove, this depicts four examples of the bird perched amongst the white blossomed branches of a Stewartia malacodendron. This work is presented with an off-white mat with a gold trim, under glass in a white painted wooden frame.
Condition
- some toning to the print where it used to be in smaller mat; stains and toning to mat; wear to finish of the frame.
