Edie Harper Signed Limited Edition Serigraph "Magnificat"
Item Details
A 1983 signed limited edition serigraph by well-listed Cincinnati artist Edie Harper (1922 – 2010), titled Magnificat. The print depicts a small round cat resting in a church in front of playfully stylized organ pipes printed in shimmering gold ink. The print is signed, titled, and numbered 320/375 in pencil in the lower margin; a Frame House Gallery blindstamp is also embossed to the lower left. The print is currently unmatted and unframed, awaiting your choice of presentation. Edie Harper described herself as a “Jill of all trades trying to master one” since she had been successful in many areas of art including photography, wood sculpture, weaving, and jewelry design, as well as painting and printmaking. Her husband, well-known artist and illustrator Charley Harper, called her “the thinking man’s Bible illustrator.” Edie’s work has been exhibited at the Cincinnati Art Museum, Andover Art Museum, and the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati.
