A hand-stitched floral area rug. This wool rug is embroidered in a palette of cream, dusty pink, pale yellow, green, and black. It features a riot of flowers and foliage, including daffodils, passion flowers, periwinkles, and sunflowers, the bouquet nearly filling the rug’s cream-colored field. Framing the field is a black border, which is broken into eight panels, its long ends filled with flowers, the corners each housing an abstract medallion. The rug has finished edges on all sides and a full fabric backing. It is unmarked.
