Item Details
A hand-knotted Turkish runner. This colorful wool rug is rendered in a palette of tomato red and midnight blue. It features six vertically arranged hexagonal medallions in blue, each containing a stylized gul with an eye at the center. The medallions rest on a tomato-red field interspersed with repeating abstract motifs and small flowers at each end. Framing the field is a primary border featuring a meandering carnation pattern over blue. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing at either end with very short kilim skirts and long ivory wool warp fringe. It is unmarked.
