A symbolist paper collage titled Bird God Offering by Anthony Guyther (American, 1921 – 2017). The image is composed of pieces cut from old engravings and hand-colored by the artist. It features a nude male figure with a parrot behind his head and bird bones attached to his shoulder. He is holding a large speckled egg and there are tiny figures at his feet with offerings. The collage is signed and dated ‘A Guyther ’79’ to the lower right and mounted under glass with a painted mat in a carved wood frame that is wired for hanging.

Condition

- several marks to frame; light staining to paper; residue near lower right corner of frame.

- measurement of the frame; visible image is approximately 8" W x 12" H.
