An early 20th-century oil painting on board, dated 1904. The piece depicts a tranquil landscape with a watercourse surrounded by trees and distant mountains to the background. The painting is signed with the artist’s initials ‘E.P. T.’ and dated ‘04’ to the lower right. Presented without glass, in an ornate gesso and gilt frame. Inscriptions with unmatching artist name and year are inscribed to the verso. Hanging wire affixed to the verso.
Condition
- board is slightly bowed, areas of craquelure scattered across painting, heaviest to lower right and top left corners; composite frame detail chipped and missing in multiple areas, finish is cracked and peeling; wold benefit from cleaning.
