An original antique color chromolithograph on wove paper titled Champignons, taken from a 1920s edition of Nouveau Larousse illustre : dictionnaire universel encyclopedique. The publication was created by famed French encyclopedist Pierre Athanase Larousse (1817 – 1875). The illustration depicts a plethora of vividly illustrated mushrooms in a remarkable variety of shapes, colors, and textures. Each specimen is labeled next to its form. An additional encyclopedia page depicting scenes of ‘mushroom culture’ and more specimens is printed in navy ink to the verso. The print is presented without matting or framing, awaiting your choice of presentation.

Condition

- very light yellowing and warping to paper, consistent with age.
