An original antique color chromolithograph on wove paper titled Roches, taken from a 1920s edition of Nouveau Larousse illustre : dictionnaire universel encyclopedique. The publication was created by famed French encyclopedist Pierre Athanase Larousse (1817 – 1875), and this illustration was created by French illustrator Maurice Dessertenne. The illustration depicts several rectangles filled with vividly saturated illustrations of stunning rock formations. Each specimen is labeled at its base. An additional encyclopedia page depicting navy blue illustrations of mines is printed to the verso. The print is presented without matting or framing, awaiting your choice of presentation.
Condition
- very light yellowing and warping to paper, consistent with age.
