An original antique color chromolithograph and halftone print on wove paper titled Minéraux, taken from a 1920s edition of Nouveau Larousse illustre : dictionnaire universel encyclopedique. The publication was created by famed French encyclopedist Pierre Athanase Larousse (1817 – 1875), and this illustration was created by French illustrator Maurice Dessertenne. The illustratino depicts a stunning collage of vivid illustrations of a variety of semi-precious gems and minerals. Each specimen is numbered and labeled to the print’s lower edge. An additional encyclopedia page depicting navy blue illustrations of mines is printed to the verso. The print is presented without matting or framing, awaiting your choice of presentation.

- very light yellowing and warping to paper, consistent with age.
