A signed 2009 artist’s proof serigraph on cream paper by well-listed and world-renowned street artist and activist Shepard Fairey (South Carolina/California; born 1970), titled Burmese Monk. The image depicts a stoic, serene monk clothed in draping robes, holding a palm fan over his shoulder, backed by a stylized backdrop of foliate mandalas with Obey logos subtly sprinkled throughout. The print is marked as artist’s proof, signed and dated in pencil by the artist to the lower margin. This work is mounted behind museum glass in a matte black composite frame, equipped to hang.
Fairey is represented by Irvine Contemporary gallery in Washington, D.C. The artist currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
