Offset Lithograph after Pablo Picasso from "Toros y Toreros" Foli

Item Details

An offset lithograph reproduction on fine printmaking paper of an original crayon sketch by very well-listed Spanish Cubist Pablo Picasso (1881 – 1973). The drawing was originally created in 1957, and was first reproduced in Paris in 1961 by Mourlot Freres as a part of the folio Toros y Toreros, which included illustrations by Picasso accompanying text by famed bullfighter Luis Miguel Dominguin and art critic Georges Boudaille. This copy of the print is from a later 1993 third edition of the folio, published by Cercle d’Art in a limited edition of 150. The print depicts an abstracted landscape scene in bright, naivete linework in vivid colors of blue, red, yellow, and orange. The date “1.8.57” and Roman numeral “I” are printed in-plate to the lower right. A certificate of authenticity from The Great Dane Collection is attached, though it contains some misinformation. Presented without matting or framing.
