Vincent Daddiego Homage to Motherwell and Frankenthaler Painting

Item Details

An original mixed media painting of acrylic with copper, handmade paper and string collage on heavyweight rat paper with deckled edges by well-listed contemporary American artist Vincent Daddiego (New York/North Carolina; born 1938). The painting is created with acrylic paint and metallic gold ink collaged with fibrous paper, copper foil, and fiber netting. It depicts an abstract composition created in shades of orange, blue, and shades of red and pink and is titled Homage to Robert Motherwell and Helen Frankenthaler. The painting is signed to the lower right and is presented without matting or framing. Daddiego refers to his work as “Baroque Expressionism”, as he fuses his Abstract Expressionist formal training under the likes of William Baziotes, Robert Motherwell and Willem deKooning, with his affinity for the musically curvilinear shapes of the Baroque period.
