A very nice, and finely made Queen Anne – style dining table and chairs by Bernhardt. This beautiful set, a faithful replica, includes two arm chairs, four side chairs and table with two leaves. The table and chairs are made of solid and veneer mahogany and tropical hardwoods, the chairs with the traditional ox yoke top rail with a shell carving, vasiform splats, the seats upholstered in a neutral ivory silk – like fabric in a diamond pattern, over the legs, the fronts of each being cabriole on pad feet. The table, similarly designed, features a near – mirror polished top of book matched veneer in a reverse diamond pattern, with a band of cross-grain veneer running the diameter of the oval top; again, on cabriole legs terminating in pad feet. Marked on the base of the table with a label.
Condition
Good overall, the legs of the table and chairs exhibit some scuffing and finish loss, general light scratches throughout, a few light nicks, etc.
Dimensions
The table measures 67.5" wide x 30" high x 44" wide, the arm chairs are 22" wide x 41" high x 19" deep and the side chairs are 20" wide x 41" high x 19" deep, each with a seat rail height of 19.5"
