A color aquatint etching on wove paper laid down on period artist board, titled L’Italienne D’ Apres Modigliani [The Italian, after Modigliani], after Amedeo Modiglinai (1884-1920) by artist Jacques Villon (pseudonym of Gaston Émile Duchamp, French 1875-1963). The etching depicts a young, dark-haired woman wearing a white frock, holding an infant on her lap. The lower margin is marked ‘Modigliani Pinxt – Chalcographie Du Louvre – Jacques Villon SCI’. It is presented with an ivory mat and glass in an ornate gilded wood frame and is ready to hang. Information about this etching is affixed to the verso.
