Limoges Porcelain Plates from the Estate of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor

A collection of circa 1934 Limoges porcelain plates. This collection includes three plates from the factory of Limoges Unique. Each plate features a different color ribbon encircling the center of the plate with a gray and charcoal enamel decoration to the border. The plates are marked to the underside reading “Décore a la Main Jean Pierre Frère édité par Jean Deniau Paris” and include the Limoges France Unique printed factory mark as well as the Windsor Castle catalog number written in fine black marker. Originally from the estate of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, former King Edward VIII of Britain and Wallis Simpson, these plates were purchased from Sotheby’s New York auction number NY7000 September 11, 1997.

- minor surface wear including slight knife marks and stacking wear to decoration.
