An original 1971 acrylic painting on canvas by 20th century Cincinnati-based artist Joyce Kearney, titled Lost Humanity. The painting depicts several forelorn figures set against a striated neutral background. Several of the figures are wrapped in cloth and walk in a line with their heads hung while two more sit on a gray structure with faces of defeat painted across their faces. The entire piece is created in loose swatches of color with gritty black outlines and accents. The painting is signed in white to the lower right. It is presented in a wooden slat-style frame with silver tone finish and a hanging wire.
