An original maritime oil painting on canvas by French artist, Charles Levier (1920-2003). The work depicts several sailboats docked against a clear blue sky. The work is signed to the lower middle, matted with linen and housed in an ornate gold tone painted frame.
Charles Levier (1920-2003) is a French painter with worldwide recognition. Levier’s post-impressionist style is dramatic, seductive and vibrant. While influenced by the masters, Levier created a style that was uniquely his own. He has held solo exhibitions in France, the United States, Japan, Korea and Hong Kong. He shows work in the Museum of Modern Art, Paris, the Menton Museum, Paris as well as six American Museums. His work is widely collected and is featured in the collections of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, John F. Kennedy, Baron Edmund de Rothschild and Prince and Princess Poniatoski.
