An offset lithograph print, after an original painting by John T. McCoy, depicting a historic flight. The print is marked along the top edge ‘Published in 1963 by Pan American World Airways New York, U.S.A.’, and to the bottom border, ‘Dixie Clipper completes first transatlantic passenger flight – New York to Lisbon, Portugal, June 29, 1939 – Boeing B-314’. According to information affixed to the back of the frame this is number 5 from an edition of 89 prints. The print is signed by the artist in plate to the lower left corner ‘John T. McCoy’ along with ’ © PAA 1963’. The artist’s original signature in pencil is at the lower right margin. The penciled signatures of two former pilots of the aircraft appear to the lower margin, though the signatures are not legible. Information about the print and the historic flight is affixed to the verso. The print is presented with glass in a wood frame and is ready to hang.
