A set of two artisan wooden pieces. Featured is a carved wooden mortar with textured designs to the exterior. It includes a turned wooden pestle. The set also features a rustic wooden bowl with an ebony finish. The items are unmarked.

The African art pieces in this sale were acquired by the previous owner while living in rural Kenya in the 1960s and 1970s. The collector admired the art of Wakamba artisans and loved supporting their work. His admiration eventually spread to the work of artisans from throughout the continent.
