A pen and ink drawing on paper titled Pantin, Commedia dell’Arte Figure by S. Burns. ‘Pantins’ were jumping jack puppets which were popular in France from the mid-18th century until the late 19th century. The figure presented here is dressed similar to the Harlequin which was the comic servant character from the Italian ‘Commedia dell’Arte’. Signed by the artist on the lower right corner and dated 1969. The piece is presented unframed.
