A. Kelly Pruit Oil Painting on Leather of a Cowboy

An oil painting on leather of a cowboy from the leather series by A. Kelly Pruit (American, 1924 – 2009), dated 1972. Signed by hand and dated to the lower right corner, this painting of a cowboy on horseback is on top of a triangular piece of leather. The leather is mounted in a stained and carved wood frame. A wire and a handwritten note with the name of the artist and the date are present to the verso of the frame. Pruit is best known for his western themed paintings.

- minor wear to frame corners; lightly bent at peak of leather ground.
