Early 20th Century Chippendale Style Secretary Bookcase
Item Details
An early 20th century Chippendale style secretary bookcase. The mahogany case features a broken-arch pediment with a central, flame-and-urn finial above two astragal-glazed doors. The doors open to a three-shelf interior. Directly below is a slant front concealing a fitted desk interior with dividers, drawers, and a central prospect door. The writing surface extends over a stack of four machine-dovetailed, long drawers. The serpentine fronts are fitted with brass tone pulls and the whole piece rises on short, cabriole legs ending in ball-and-claw feet.
