Pair of Hand-Painted Russian Matroyshka Nesting Dolls
Item Details
A pair of hand painted Russian Matroshka’s, also known as nesting dolls. The largest is a five piece set, decorated on natural wood, with a ‘burned’ central design featuring a scene of Russia’s landmark Red Square. It has a delicately painted face, a red stained body, and applied silver gilt accents. It is signed illegibly to the underside. The second doll is a four-piece set. The design is painted on a purple background, with a delicate face and a floral pattern on the body in a palette of red, pink, green and white. The doll has been accented with ‘jewels’ in gold and silver tone glitter, and floral neckline of red, gold tone and green glitter.
