An original abstract painting on stretched canvas titled Technicolor by Edgar Yaeger(1904-1997), dated 1962. The colorful painting has an intersecting grid at the center with arched bands of color extending at the sides. The painting is signed and dated in the lower right corner and has been left unframed.
Known for his modern abstract style and his WPA murals of the Depression era, Yaeger was influenced by European modernists such as Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso, and Giorgio de Chirico. Yaeger’s work has been exhibited at many institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Detroit Institute of Art, the Corcoran Gallery, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, among others.
