Chinese Carved Wood Buddhist Traveling Shrine
Item Details
A Chinese three-fold hand-carved Buddhist traveling shrine. Carved with flowers and characters to back, the inside is carved with motifs of Bodhisattvas and a figure of Avalokiteshvara, associated with safe travel. Signed with a Qianlong seal to the underside, however, the piece was likely produced in the 20th century.
