Handmade and Hand-Painted Pottery Soup Tureen

A handmade and hand-painted pottery soup tureen. The tureen has a pedestal base and a round wheel-thrown bowl. The tureen is made of terra cotta colored clay which has been left natural on the outside and glazed on the interior with a rubbed rust colored glaze. The lid is embellished with hand-modeled flowers and leaves, with a white goose in the center. There are rope twist handles on the side, and the tureen comes with a matching glazed terra cotta ladle. There is an illegible artist’s signature on the underside.
