Antique Dome-Top Chest

Item Details

A circa 1900 antique dome-top chest. It has a copper sheet veneer and wood banding to the exterior, with leather, handles to either side. The interior is lined with patterned and illustrated paper, and has a lift-out tray with three compartments, two of which have hinged lids. The interior of the trunk lid also has an attached compartment. It is secured with latches but does not lock.

Condition

- the left side leather handle is missing, and the right side is intact but the top layer of the leather is peeling off. The compartment to the lid interior has a detached cover. General cosmetic wear including discoloration to the copper sheeting consistent with age.
