A hand-knotted Persian Qashqai Yalameh Serapi runner. This well-balanced wool rug begins with five hexagonal pole medallions over an abrashed red/pink field. Each medallion features a logical design of its own, incorporating geometric guls, arrows, squared star shapes, florets, eyes, and star-studded fringe. They rest on a field populated with six sets of guls, phoenix figures, and S shapes. Framing the field is an ivory border featuring a colorful, sequential hands on hips pattern, which is flanked by sawtooth guard strips. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with short wool warp fringe. The rug is not marked.
