1799 London Sterling Ladle and Two American Sterling Serving Utensils
Item Details
A collection of unique sterling silver utensils. This includes a 1799 ladle by a London silversmith, with a wide bowl, slightly flaring shoulders and a tipped broad fiddle handle. It is marked on the back with a lion passant, crowned leopard head, King George III duty mark, and ‘D’ in four cartouches, with a worn maker’s mark. This is accompanied by an R. Blackinton & Co. serving fork with a scrolling acanthus leaf handle and a Reed & Barton pierced bowl nut spoon with a floral embellished handle. The total approximate weight is 7.350 oz

- some minor surface wear with faint markings and minimal tarnishing.
