Guido Ferro Oil Painting on Canvas Venetian Canal Scene
Item Details
An oil painting on canvas by listed Italian artist Guido Ferro (1911- ?). The painting depicts a Venetian canal scene under an ominous gray sky. The warm toned buildings and gondolas in the foreground quickly fade into the distance as the perspective moves into the background. The piece is signed in the lower left ‘Ferro,’ and a brass plaque on the bottom of the matting bears the same name. Presented without glass, housed in a light gesso molded frame with a gilt finish.

- gesso molded veneer on frame has missing spots or chips in several areas.
