A circa 1840’s C. & L. C. Ives Triple- Decker, brass eight day, time and strike, clock. This pre-civil war time piece features a three-tiered case with a gilded eagle splat; a Roman numeral dial with opening to view workings; Columns present to all three tiers, with the middle columns in gold-toned paint, and bottom and top tiers painted to resemble marble; the center glass is decorated with reverse paint in a geometric pattern, in black and gold, with a mirrored lower tier; the bottom tier has painted paper to inside of door, and original makers paper and information affixed to the interior.
