An ornate wool hand-knotted floral area rug. This rug has a floral and scroll pendant medallion surrounded by a field of scrolling foliage and flower vines on a scarlet red background. The spandrels feature a large scale inverted palmette in the same colorway. It has a compound border of floral elements, featuring a primary border with a cloud band and palmette motif on a deep blue-black field, framed by ochre guard borders. The rug havs overcast edges and hand-tied wool warp fringe to each end. Unlabeled.
