A circa 1930s handwoven Persian Isfahan Shadsar Kashan area rug. The blue-black field is decorated with intricate designs of arabesqued vines, blossoming palmettes, lobed flowers, lancet leaves, and pale blue central medallion. A series of meandering palmette borders surround the field. The carpet is finished with a short wool warp fringe.
