An original 1919 National Police Gazette header and baseball page plate featuring Hall of Famer Rogers Hornsby. The National Police Gazette is considered one of the first men’s magazines and was known for the sensational but true crime stories printed in their pages. It was in publication from 1845-1920. This page features Star Catchers and Infielders of the National Baseball League, including Rogers Hornsby, Bill Killifer, Hank Gowdy, William Kopf, Ivy Wingo, ‘Rabbit’ Maranville, Milton Stock, Charley Hollocher, and others.
