Large Handwoven Triple Medallion Kazak Area Rug
Item Details
A large, antique triple medallion Kazak area rug. This artistic tribal wool rug is handwoven in a markedly abrashed palette of taupe, mauve, mocha, pink, black, brown, and turquoise. It features three octagonal large pole medallions, which contain perepedil motifs and other symbolic elements, including possible eagles, in an environment of pink, taupe, and turquoise over brown backgrounds. The medallions, in turn, rest on a mauve field, which is punctuated with eyes and other symbolic motifs. Framing the field are a pair of running water borders. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing at either end with bound edges. Unlabeled.
