Early 1900s Fireplace Insert With Embossed Summer Cover
Item Details
An antique metal fireplace insert with a detailed embossed summer cover to the facade, which can easily be removed, circa the early 1900s. This fireplace insert features a decorative molding around the edges with a repeating acanthus leaf motif, as well as an overhang at the top and a vent along the bottom. The summer cover is embossed with a lovely Grecian inspired scene featuring a women lying with a small child on her chest, along with a dog on one side and a man laying down on the other side of her – surrounding them is a unique engraved swirled pattern.
Condition
- Some discoloration and staining throughout, as well as rusting and minor bending to the metal throughout.
