Hand Painted Chinese Porcelain Vases
Item Details
A pair of hand painted Chinese porcelain vases. A vase with flared lip, narrow neck and bulbous body glazed celadon green with hand painted details on the body. A pair of birds standing on a grass covered ground surrounded by blooming chrysanthemum and a flowering tree branch. The underside is stamped with a Tongzhi reign mark, however, the vase was likely produced in the mid 20th century. The motif is repeated on the container, which has a mustard yellow background and a lidded top. The underside is marked ‘ju ren tang zhi’ (居仁堂製), dating the piece to the early Republic period (1912-1949).
Condition
The vases have signs of age.
