Semi-Antique Hand-Knotted Persian Shiraz Area Rug

Item Details

A semi-antique hand-knotted Persian Shiraz area rug. The madder red lozenge shaped field displays a set of three lozenge medallions with black and white respective grounds. The field is decorated with a variety of floral, foliate, and animal motifs. Black colored spandrels with repeating minor guls stand at corner of the field. The rug is encircled by a principal border of repeating lozenges in rust, powder blue, forest green, and pale yellow. A closely knotted wool fringe completes the rug.
