A signed first edition of You Can’t Beat the Hours by Mel Allen and Ed Fitzgerald. Mel Allen was the legendary announcer for the New York Yankees and the voice for ‘This Week in Baseball’. This book was published in 1964 by Harper & Row. The free front endpaper is signed ‘To Rick – Best personal regards – Mel Allen Sept. 9, 1964’ in blue ink; a notation in blue ink on the half-title page reads, ‘Rick Young 2 September 1964’.
