Large-Scale Original Signed Harbor Scene Oil on Canvas in Fine Carved Arts & Crafts Gold Leaf Frame
Item Details
An original oil painting on canvas of an Impressionistic harbor scene, signed illegibly in the paint by the artist to the lower right, circa 1960. The image depicts fishing boats tied to a dock on an overcast day with rain in the air. The only life in sight are the seagulls who coast aimlessly on the wind, in search of food. The painting is mounted in a fine Arts & Crafts carved wood frame with a brilliant gold leaf finish, circa 1940s, equipped to hang.
Condition
- paint is lifting in a few areas along top edge. Paint loss throughout painting surface. Isolated areas of craquelure. Finish of frame is lightly worn.
