An original oil painting on canvas titled Clipper Ship ‘Cutty Sark’ by listed artist John Coleman Terry (American, 1870-1934). The painting depicts the famous clipper ship with full sails, navigating a choppy ocean, with lightly scattered gray clouds in the blue sky. It is signed to the lower right corner ‘John Terry’, and is also hand-marked by the artist to the back of the canvas with information about the painting, which reads ‘Clipper Ship ’Cutty Sark’ Built Dunbarton 1869. Gross Tors 963. Length 212ft. Beam 36ft. (South Atlantic. Starboard Watch furling crojack.)’ The painting is presented in a custom wood frame with a gilded inner border and is ready to hang.
