A watercolor and gouache painting after John Bauer’s The Barrel Bung, by E. Meyer. This painting on paper depicts two robed women exclaiming in bewilderment as they watch a monk carrying what appears to be a cow’s leg jangling keys. To the lower right corner is a painted facsimile signature, as well as a handwritten graphite signature. The painting is presented under single-layered matting in a silver tone metal frame with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- slight edge wear to frame; slight residue on glass; could benefit from cleaning; backing board wrinkled and stained.
