An antique 1909 Tiffany & Co. Abraham Lincoln essay contest silver medallion. This coin silver medallion was awarded to Ernest Whitlock by The New York Times in 1909 for merit in an essay contest on Abraham Lincoln. The piece is marked “Tiffany & Co.” near the bottom edge and features a raised profile portrait of Lincoln with the motto “With malice toward none, with charity for all” surrounding his image. Each piece is hallmarked as, or has tested as sterling silver. The total approximate weight inclusive of all non-metal materials is 0.735 ozt.
