An oil on board landscape painting attributed to the listed artist Charles E. Rubino (American 1896 – 1973). Painted in an impressionist style, it depicts trees in autumn foliage on the banks of a stream and clouds mounting in the background. Unsigned, the painting is marked an estate stamp for Charles E. Rubino to the verso. It is mounted in a wooden frame with a washed white finish and is wired for hanging. Originally from Italy, Rubino immigrated to the United States and became art director for Heart Publications in New York. During his career, Rubino illustrated over 1,000 magazine covers.
Condition
- slight yellowing to varnish; minor scratches and light stains on the frame.
