An oil on canvas board still life painting attributed to the listed American-Italian artist Charles E. Rubino (1896 – 1973). The painting depicts a large arrangement of chrysanthemums in a dark green vase and three peaches against a dark background. The unsigned painting is stamped to the verso ‘Estate of Charles E. Rubino’ and is mounted in a white painted wooden frame with gilt detail. It is fitted with a hardware for hanging. Originally from Italy, Rubino immigrated to the United States and became art director for Heart Publications in New York. During his career, Rubino illustrated over 1,000 magazine covers.
