Rupert Jasen Smith "Seiko" Signed Limited Edition Screenprint with Diamond Dust
Item Details
A signed limited edition artist’s proof screenprint titled Seiko by Rupert Jasen Smith (1953-1989). Rupert Jansen Smith was a master print maker for Andy Warhol and this piece was part of Rupert’s Homage to Andy Warhol portfolio. This vibrant piece depicts a Seiko sports watch with the brand’s slogan toward the bottom. The screen print was printed on Lennox Museum Board with diamond dust outlining the watch. This unframed piece is signed and numbered ‘AP 15/15’ in pencil to the bottom right corner. Smith was a master screen print artist and worked closely with many legendary artists in both the Pop and the Neo-Pop movements. He collaborated with Keith Haring, Kenny Scharf, and most notably, Andy Warhol. Smith invented the process of enhancing screen prints and serigraphs with diamond dust, a technique that later appeared on many of Warhol’s works.
