Very Large Hand-Knotted Persian Kerman Rug
Item Details
A semi-antique, very large Kerman area rug. This Persian wool rug is hand-knotted in a palette of cherry red, pink, and cerulean. It features a riotously exuberant floral design offset by an open red field. The design begins with a central medallion with pendants. It forgoes traditional borders and guard rails in favor of a single, large oval frame to the field. This territory is filled with intricately patterned bouquets, vines, and foliage, including hyacinths, raisins, periwinkles, and other flowers. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with short wool warp fringe. It is marked on the reverse.
- Please note, this is an item that may be especially difficult to move and/or transport. Unless shipping arrangements are available and made by the winning bidder, that individual is advised to bring, appropriate assistance, vehicle, proper materials, and any necessary tools to pickup.
