Antique Confederate Bearer Bond

Item Details

An antique Confederate bearer bond. The bond is number 1824 and has smaller bonds attached to the bottom redeemable at different dates for forty dollars each. Several of the smaller pieces have been previously detached. The full amount of the 1,000 bond would have been redeemable on July 1, 1879, had the Civil War not ended in 1865. Also included is a receipt for a different bearer bond.

Condition

the piece has yellowing and shows wear consistent with age.
