Large and Unique Handmade Vintage Turkish Patchwork Area Rug
Item Details
A large and very unique vintage handmade Turkish patchwork area rug. This rug is made from rectangular fragments of Turkish rugs, the majority of which feature red as the dominant color. The motifs include eight-pointed stars, flowers, meandering carnation patterns, arrows, and a variety of gul and hooked elements in a bright and eye-catching palette of shades of red, ochre, bright white, shades of brown and blues, teal, pink and green. The rug panels and the edges have been hand-stitched, with red wool yarn securing a full fabric backing to the underside. It is marked on the reverse.
